Pretty Lake Village

Norfolk, Virginia

Pretty Lake is an established community undergoing redevelopment. It is west of the new East Beach Community on Norfolk's Chesapeake Bay and provides a delightful contrast and destination for residents. Residents of the new village enjoy the deep channeled lake access, with direct connections for boaters to large established marinas, marina amenities, Little Creek and the Chesapeake Bay. Mature live oak shade trees, sculptural in nature, address the small scaled neighborhoods rolling streets. The marina creates the backdrop of a mixed-use waterfront district. The architectural pattern of the 64-unit residential development combines traditional coastal details with innovative expressions of materials and color palettes. The project consists of four buildings with four floors each and four units per floor. The units are each 1,700 s.f. and the fourth floor units include loft spaces. Four additional town homes are included on the site along with a marina, clubhouse, and lavish pool. Water views have been maximized for interior and exterior experiences. Details such as the buildings' open riser stairs allow for maximum view corridors to the water.
